AFC Wimbledon have confirmed the signing of Cambridge United forward Saikhou Jennah on loan for the rest of the season.
We revealed yesterday that the Dons were set to confirm the Gambian forward as their fourth signing of the January transfer window.
The South Londoners have also signed Bristol City winger Sam Pearson and Forest Green midfielder Armani Little on loan. Wycombe forward Ali Al-Hamadi joined on a permanent deal.
Our paper understands that there is no option to buy included in the Jennah’s six-month loan spell.
The 23-year-old excelled during his loan spell with Torquay United in the National League South in the 2018-19 season, scoring 18 goals in 34 matches in all competitions.
Janneh, who has also had loan spells at Shrewsbury Town and Newport County, left Bristol City in the summer after four seasons at Ashton Gate to join Cambridge on a two-year deal.
Speaking to the club website, Dons boss Johnnie Jackson said: “Saikou is an exciting forward player who can play on both wings and through the centre.
“He’s different to what we’ve got already because he brings electric pace, which allows you to get up the pitch quickly.
“He takes players on, is aggressive and gets in behind – which will help us to put the opposition on the back foot.”
